I ran across this term "neo-fascist MAGA movement" in one of your posts and was curious as to what specifics you were ascribing this term to. The term "fascist" has been thrown around in all directions a lot in recent years between movements that seem quite opposite each other in their values and tactics. To what and to whom are you ascribing this term?
Thank you.
I first read a book on fascism back in the 1970's, and the core of that ideology has not changed. Yes, MAGAism shares the focus on the personality cult of the leader. Fascism lacks a firm policy base, rather, fascist adopt their "beliefs" to tailor it to what brings them the most power. Fascism targets minority groups as a scapegoat to energize their base and justify broad political path of repression. Fascist target both the free press and the democratic system as undermining the lofty goals of "The Leader."
In all of this the MAGA movement is a reinvention of the system developed by Mussolini and copied by Hitler, Pinochet and others. It is fixated on defining "real Americans" only by their idolized version of themselves (and a fantasy version of Trump).
The MAGA movement stands in direct opposition to everything this website is about. Anyone who doesn't see the goals of MAGAims as the polar opposite of everything I teach is not paying attention either to what I write or what MAGAism is all about (and by the way they utterly oppose what Jesus taught as well)
