I have had a few people tell me my photography is pretty good. I know i have long way to go before im "professional". there are aspects i am still learning. However. A am really intestest in shooting nude photos. I have done a couple of 'Shoots' with my patner and a couple of friends, as well as a couple of nudist events ( I had my camera and everyone wanted photos). but they have all been very spur of the moment things.
How do you go about arranging / talking about nude photo shoots with people?
I'm part of the life drawing scene in Minneapolis. I draw with two groups of artists, and know of three other groups active in the Twin Cities. I have an idea that there are life drawing groups in other sizable cities. I stumbled across the website of a Columbus, Ohio artist who hosts one. It's probably the same for photographers. I'd start looking at a camera store or university. I don't know how much we pay models at my four-hour, weekday-morning group (If I were modeling for half a weekday, I'd want at least $120.00.), but at the two-hour, evening session it's sixty bucks, split between an average of half a dozen artists. We do not allow photographs at either group. In our conversation around that rule, I have learned that model fees are larger for photography, but not how much larger. Also, somebody once told me that photography models are more conventionally good looking. The Professor seems to get people to pay him. He has also shot models who were putting together portfolios. If you've got the chops, print up some business cards. I know a few models who get a kick out of posing nude, women as well as men. (In fact there are more female models here than male, the ratio being about 12:1.) If you can find them, you can practice on folks who are into it.
